About Phone Hacking

Above all I am a firm believer of the British system. Its not a matter of support, instead I consider the British establishment as an example to the rest of the world, not only because I recon must countries have to adopt some of British manners, but because Britain has really shaped much of what is good in the current world order: the rule of law, democracy, and tradition.

During these past weeks we’ve all seen the Murdoch scandal burst on screen. That’s great, I am appalled by what he did with News International, appalled to see how far he was willing to go in order to get stories, to sell toilet paper news papers. I recon the whole of the News Corp should collapse internationally, basically his morals were quite limited, his respect for human privacy and dignity were inexistent. It is of course a terrible moment for the Tory Prime Minister Cameron. But what’s great about Britain is that they don’t try to hide things, now that the news are out, this will continue to get bigger and bigger, and as big as necessary. I love it, I wish it would be like that where I come from.

In Latin America, normally we try to deny things, lie, lie, lie. I spot a clear difference; in here we are not straight forward about hardly anything, certainly not government issues. See how Chavez handles his illness, how the Castros handle everything in Cuba.

I wish we were a little British, especially when it comes to solving problems. Especially when it comes to speaking out the truth.

Now, back to Britain, of course I hope the worse for Rupert Murdoch, I never liked his newspapers; I profoundly dislike his business practices. David Cameron is in trouble, he is friends with this Brooks person, she has a lot of questions to answer, and so does Cameron.

But, once more, well done England I didn’t expect less from the BBC’s coverage on this story. I hope the whole of the British society vetoes what has occurred there so it never happens again.
